Mobilization

What is Mobilization?

Mobilization is performed to joints and surrounding tissue to help address pain or improve joint mobility. Proper physical therapy assessment is performed to determine what factors are leading to the injury and deficits that are present. It is recognized that sometimes after injury or surgery joints become restricted and a patient will benefit from proper mobilization.  At Advanced Physical Therapy our therapists are well trained in joint mobilization techniques to address the deficits that are present.

Why is Mobilization Used in Physical Therapy?

Joint mobilization has many applications, but the most common goals with mobilization include alleviating pain and increasing joint mobility. Mobilization can also work to improve range of motion and function.
